A sarny that’s filled with leftovers on Boxing Day often surpasses Christmas Dinner itself, so this Boxing Day we thought we’d add a little more ‘Yorkshire’ to our leftover meal and created a Yorkshire Creamery Boxing Day Toastie!
Yorkshire Cheddar, Yorkshire Red & Double Yorkshire cheese (grated – and as much as you’d like!)
Slices of leftover turkey breast
2 slices of sourdough bread (or your favourite type of bread)
1 tbsp of Cranberry Sauce (or more if you prefer!)
Brussels sprouts, cooked and thinly sliced
Leftover red cabbage, bread sauce & stuffing!
1. Begin by spreading a thick layer of Yorkshire Butter on each slice of bread. Take one slice of bread, unbuttered-side up, on a work surface and spread on the cranberry sauce!
2. Pile on each ingredient evenly on top of the cranberry sauce, mixing the cheese with the bread sauce if desired. Season well with salt and pepper and place the remaining slice of bread on top, buttered-side up!
3. Either cook under a medium grill, in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat or in a preheated toastie press set to medium. Cook until the cheese melts and the filling is hot through!
4. Remove from the heat, slice in half and enjoy! The true Yorkshire way!
